On November 26, 2009, the suspect, Paul Michael Merhige, w/m 09/10/1974, was invited to dinner at 104 Via Veracruz, Jupiter where he subsequently opened fire on the guests. The investigation revealed that Merhige had a strong resentment toward several family members within the residence. During the evening, the suspect exited the residence and returned a short time later with a gun. As he entered the residence, he proceeded to shoot the victims without warning or provocation. He immediately fled the scene in his 2007 Toyota Camry 4-door, blue in color vehicle, bearing Florida license plate #W427JT.

The Jupiter Police Department is working with the United States Marshals utilizing their resources in an attempt to locate the suspect. The suspect’s last known address was in Miami. The following is a confirmation of the victims and their relationship to the suspect.

Victim #1 (Deceased): Raymonde Joseph (06/27/33) – Aunt

Victim #2 (Deceased): Carla Merhige (03/29/76) – Sister

Victim #3 (Deceased): Lisa Knight (03/29/76) – Sister

Victim #4 (Deceased): Makayla Sitton (12/06/02) – Cousin

Victim #5 (Injured): Patrick Knight (10/19/72) – Brother-in-Law

Victim #6 (Injured): Clifford Gebara (09/03/57) – Cousin
