Brink The Game

BrinkBrinkBrink
What's the story?

Brink takes place in the near future on a man-made floating city at sea called the Ark, made up of hundreds of separate islands and spread out over several square miles. Originally built as an experimental self-sufficient and 100% “green” habitat, the reported rapid rise of the Earth’s oceans has forced the Ark to become a refuge for humanity. Crammed with the original Ark Founders (and their descendants) as well as tens of thousands of refugee “Guests”, the Ark exists in total isolation from the rest of the world.

Now, at the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Ark and after almost 25 years of social unrest since the influx of the Guests, mankind’s last refuge is on the brink of all-out civil war, and it’s your actions – whether you side with the Security or Resistance – that will decide the future of Ark and the human race.

This is an introduction of SMART withch stands for Smooth Movement Across Random Terain, they use what they are calling a smart button to navagate. You can walk normally or press the button to move fast and you will be able to jump over a railing or go above or below a security point without having hit a button to go into prone or jump and climb. This is truely inovative and unique among First Person shooters. They also introduce you to how co-op and multiplayer works, this is also unique. You can play with co-op with up to 7 of your friends or multiplayer with random people on the internet.

This is an introduction to Container City, they show a command post that you can switch your weapon loadout by picking up a different kit witch is customizable as you level up. They are picking The Operative Class which is a stealthy class with the Kross SMG. The first objective is to smash through a doorway and a soldier class is needed, so they use this thing called the subjective wheel to see what he could do to help the team. In the wheel it shows interogate the enemy will help the team and net him 300 xp. so he clicks on it and it shows him where the enemy is, this is a great feature of brink because you don't have to run around trying to figure out what to do next.

Here are two more videos that show you about the different classes and some of the types of objectives in Brink the game. You might want to take not of the cover options, a couple of times he peaks around the corner while under cover, that is always a nice option and a full run using SMART.

Brink looks like it will be a game with many options we have not seen before. Bethesda, has come out with some great games in the past such as Oblivion and Fallout 3 so I have some faith that they will put out a good end product.
